Your second area: where you scored the second-highest
Your Result: Nervous System
Your body is asking to be regulated.
Your answers suggest your body may be spending a lot of time in stress mode. This can be caused by multiple reasons that are all valid and not always easily perceived, especially by others around you. Your body has registered signals that indicate it needs to stay on high alert, which can affect your sleep, digestion, mood, and the regularity of your cycle, and it can make PMS symptoms feel more intense. This isn’t a flaw in you. It’s the body doing its best to protect you. The good news is that this can often be regulated with somatic (body-based), small, consistent signals of safety.
You are at home in your body; let’s make it a place where it is good to rest.
Three small things to try this week
As you start and end the day, take 3 deep breaths from your belly (let your stomach grow with each inhale, not your chest).
Set an alarm to go off every 90 minutes, if possible, to remind you to stand up and stretch yourself as high as possible, then to bend down (knees bent) and touch your toes.
Step outside in daylight for a short walk each day, without anything in your ears, and feel into your senses as you go (sight, hearing, smelling, touching).
Before you move on, one important thing.
Your period is not supposed to hurt, and it deserves to be properly looked at. If you experience intense and life-disrupting symptoms such as severe pain, very heavy bleeding, missing periods, bleeding between periods, or symptoms that are getting worse, this might indicate underlying causes that deserve a medical check-up. Please book an appointment with a doctor or gynecologist if this is your case.
Natural approaches can be a wonderful companion to medical care, but never a replacement for it. Your result is a place to start alongside that, not instead of it.
Please understand that my work at Spotless Girl is not a replacement for medical care or professional therapy.
